BicycleRadio.com presents First Annual Chamois Awards.

December 16, 2007 4:16 pm

Tempe, AZ – Bicycle Radio’s “Escape The Peloton” is pleased to announce the live broadcast of their First Annual Chamois Awards highlighting the best cycling moments of 2007, on Tuesday December 18, 2007, 7:00 p.m. (MST).

The Chamois Awards will highlight Bicycle Radio’s favorite cycling moments of the year and welcome back guests from previous shows. Awards range from, “Favorite Guest of 2007,” “Top Story of 2007,” to the “Driving the SAG wagon” Award, among many others.

It was very difficult for members of “Escape the Peloton” to choose the Chamois Award for their “Favorite Guest of 2007.” Sean Mellor, host of “Escape the Peloton,” said, “Believe me; we’ve had a lot to choose from on this one. Tinker Juarez, Ned Overend, Tommy Danielson, Niki Gudex, and John Wilcockson.”

“Some of the Chamois Awards will be for pure enjoyment,” said Mellor, “like the Chamois for the comment that left us all speechless. Others, however, will exemplify what we feel our show is all about; Passion for Cycling and Passion for life. For example, you will be pleasantly surprised by our choice for the top story of 2007. And, No. It has nothing to do with doping”, added Mellor.

Larry Hendon, producer of “Escape the Peloton” offered a little bit of advice. “Bring a tissue! You will laugh and you may even shed a tear or two. Plus it’s the cold and flu season and there’s never a Kleenex around when you need one,” Hendon said.

Bicycle Radio is dedicated to bringing cycling enthusiast everywhere quality news, entertainment and conversation through broadcasts such as “Escape the Peloton” live every Tuesday at 7:00pm (MST) on BicycleRadio.com.

Things are coming together…

December 6, 2007 1:39 pm

Hello folks,

Things are coming together nicely with my Arizona cycling based newsletter. As we speak it is at the printers. There they will give it a quick glance over, make sure it is formated properly, correct all my mistakes and fubars, and print out 1,200 copies. From there 1,000 newsletters will be mailed to Arizona cyclists and another 200 will be distributed through local bike shops.

Not too shabby.

Here are tiny pictures of the newsletter.

I’ll let you know when the finished product hits the street.

Take care.

Come get your news…

November 27, 2007 1:55 pm

Well folks, to cut to the point and avoid us both a long drawn out intro… I’m putting together a newsletter for the Arizona cycling community.

I will now elaborate in a long drawn out way.

The Velocity Group Cycling News is scheduled to hit (not literally) mailboxes in early December. The print based newsletter will feature 4 full color pages that will include training tips, race results, rider interviews, photos, group ride schedules and more. The newsletter will only feature events, riders, and activities from within Arizona. If you want National news, go see CyclingNews or VeloNews. I’ll leave the big stuff to them. The Velocity Group Cycling News will also feature advertising space reserved for Arizona cyclist owned businesses. Currently Missingsaddle.com, BicycleRadio.com, Best in the West Builders, Achievers Mortgage, and CWF Financial have signed on. All are owned and operated by local cyclists.

For now the newsletter will circulate on a bi-monthly basis and reach 1,200 riders and steadily growing. If you, or anybody you know, live in Arizona and would like to receive this newsletter, leave me a comment and let me know. Please don’t forget to leave your full name and mailing address. Your comment will not appear on the site as I have to approve them before they are posted.

Oh yeah, and to clarify something… this is a printed, hard copy, tangible, hold-it-in-your-hand newsletter. Not an e-mail based newsletter. To clarify one more thing… this newsletter will feature absolutely NO real estate talk. None, nada, zero, zilch. I want people to read this as opposed to filing it in the garbage can. The newsletter is simply branded with the Velocity Group name because… well, we are the one’s sending it.

I believe that’s all. Please drop me a comment if you have any questions, comments, worries, concerns, or recommendations. I am open to any ideas as to how I can make this newsletter more informative and of more value to the local riders.

Take care.

Austin

And a final thought… The best part about the newsletter is that it will be… drum roll please… free. Free is the best price.

If you missed last night’s Bicycle Radio show, I would highly recommend you go to BicycleRadio.com and listen to it…

Mike Creed and Brad Huff were in town so we went down to do the show.

Needless to say things got a bit out of hand.

Hell was raised. My mouth stayed shut. I tried to avoid the verbal barrage. It didn’t really work though.

Listen for yourself.

Don’t miss it folks.

Tomorrow night I’ll be live on Bicycle Radio with Genevieve Jeanson.

Rumor is… she’s going to talk and is willing to answer questions. I’m very excited because I have plenty of those.

The show is live from 7 to 8pm Arizona time. If you have questions as well, call 1-877-202-0509 and ask them live. Or if telephone’s scare you, send an e-mail to: live@bicycleradio.com. If you miss the show, visit Bicycle Radio and check out their archives. It’ll be there.

If you’d like me to ask her a question for you, please leave a comment.

If you’d like me to ask her a question for you, and you leave a comment with your question, please have the testicular/ovarian fortitude to leave your real name. I won’t ask questions left by people named “dudemandude” or “EPO69″.

No body likes the anonymous tough guy.

Better known in most circles as a wuss.

Otherwise, tune in. It should be a good one.

Alright, I’ve gotta go sell some houses.
