This, that… and all the cherry picking in between.
August 15, 2007 11:57 amHey folks,
It’s me again.
Well, I currently find myself sitting in Nashville, Tennessee with a day to go until I fly out to Montreal for a few more races. Before arriving in Nashy I made a quick stop in Chicago for the Tour of Elk Grove…. Which should actually be renamed “The Race Up and Down The Same Street in Elk Grove”. But with all honesty, the race has a heap of cash (like $150,000 heap) and was a real good time… despite over 150 u-turns in 3 stages.
With plenty of good coin at stake, all the top domestic riders showed up including a few Euro based riders. Guys like Chris Horner and Fred Rodriguez. While out with the team getting a bit of lunch before the race we ran into Fred and had a bit of small talk.
Fred let us know that he was there “cherry picking”….
Hm… I thought that was pretty cool and all… But, at that point I hadn’t seen any cherry tree’s in the area and honestly wasn’t sure if it was even cherry season?
But who am I to blow against the wind?
So I didn’t. I just ate my turkey sandwich and drank my diet soda in peace and quiet.
That’s all the update I have for now people. I fly out tomorrow morning at o’ dark thirty. Off to Montreal and La Classique Louis Garneau. Last year I got you folks some real nice footage of Louis’s club house. I’ll try and not disappoint my trusty readers and get an updated shot of the place. Hot… so hot.
Stay cool folks.
It’s hot and humid out there.
