A womb without a view.
January 25, 2007 6:46 am26 years ago to this very day, at 4 in the morning, I decided I had had enough of that womb without a view…
If you want to know what being 26 feels like…
just a bit older than 25.
Today, on my Birthday, I’m going to do a long, hard ride to Payson. Then I’m heading out with Suzanne to get sushi for dinner. Then I’m going to eat the birthday cake she made me. Seriously, I’m going to eat the entire thing. Believe that.
I’ll probably finish the day off with with some browsing of E-Bay for new Scout parts. Maybe I’ll hit up CraigsList and see if there’s any new goodies there. I want to buy a mid 50’s Chevy Belair… and a 30’s Model A… and a mid 50’s Thunderbird… and a 60’s International Harvester… and a GTO, Mustang, Camaro or some other type of muscle car.
I’m a dreamer and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
That’s my Birthday right there folks.
Now the good stuff… Did anyone see American Idol last night? Seriously, they’re totally using retarded kids for better ratings. I can totally see it now…
As the short bus gingerly pulls up in front of the audition building, the door slowly opens to release the ecstatic newfound auditioners upon the televised world… Unaware of the viewing carnage and laughter deviously planned for them by the producers and the kind folks behind the scene at the FOX network… as one-by-one the young people step off fully believing today is the day their destiny will be reached and they’ll become America’s newest Idol…
Just watch it.
Bye.

Happy Birthday, Austin, and may you have a very successful coming year, on the bike and off.
We are having winter in these northern regions, a spitting of snow and then a splash of sunshine, always with wind and temps in the 20’s. It keeps me inside on the trainer, and I have seen all my cycling DVD’s — I’ll have to start over.

Happy Birthday!! There was a segment on the Today Show with two of the Idol rejects that were berated by Simon. Apparently, they legitimately believed they were good and now they BOTH have record deals. In addition, they were very disappointed in Simon’s character for not calling them personally and apologizing to them and their families. You would of loved it!
I saw those two guys on the show. One was the big heavy kid with the small high pitched voice. The other was the small kid with dark hair and big diamond earrings. Simon said he looked like some sort of Hobbit or E-Wok or something like that… Quality TV at it’s finest.
The weather here has been in the 20’s… maybe once or twice all winter. Actually it did snow last Sunday. Quite a bit really (by desert standards). Normally it melts as it hits the ground but in some parts of the city it was actually accumulating on the ground. Crazy… just plain crazy.
But don’t worry, come summer time we’ll get paidback for our nice winter and spring weather…
Happy b day. Hey Brian showed me a picture of your crack.I’m pretty sure I could fill your crack remind me when I see you again to take care of that. By the way, your not alone I currently have 12 yes thats right TWELVE cars at my house.I tend to run the way of euro trash mid 60s to 70s but I am a car guy and anything you mentioned would be good.
Hey Jon,
Yeah, it’s a nice crack. I had a crack just like it earlier in the season, but I never got to see it. But I look at this crack all the time. Most people can’t see their crack, but I can see mine. Brian saw my crack too. So did you.
I’m coming over when I get to Athens. I want to see all the cars. I’ve only got one right now, but when I grow up I hope to have a lot. Twelve is a lot.
