The South will one day rise again!
April 16, 2006 5:20 pmI told you guys a few days ago that it would be about a 2 hour drive from Athens to the Tour de Georgia TT course. Actually it was 4 hours……. each way……Eureka!
On the way home we stopped to grab a bite to eat. The guy behind the counter said, “You guys must be from up north”…….
“Nah, I’m from out west”, I said.
Then, I just saw in a regional magazine something about General Sherman’s (a man from “up north”, circa 1864) Civil War march setting the stage for the WWII nuclear attack on Tokyo (circa 1945)……Hm…With feelings like these still brewing, I feel the South will one day attempt to rise again. Consider yourself warned……….
Well, I’m in Augusta, Georgia right now. You may remember Augusta from such global productions as that Master’s golf game thinga-ma-jiggy, but soon it will be remembered as the start town of stage one of the Tour de Georgia. Tomorrow, we have a nice little ride planned and the team presentation in the evening. It should be fun.
